Getting started
For everyone
CelikPanel runs your websites, mail, domains and databases on a server. This chapter shows where things are on the screen, what your role lets you do, and where to start.
Signing in
Open the panel's address in your browser. Whoever gave you your account sends you this address, your Username and either a password or a link to set one.
- If you turned on two-factor authentication, the panel asks for the six-digit code from your authenticator app after your password.
- If you forgot your password, choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page. A reset link is sent to your account's email address.
The screen
- The menu on the left holds everything you manage, grouped under Hosting and, for the administrator, Server. It can be folded down to icons with Collapse menu. On a phone, open it with the Menu button at the top left.
- The page in the middle shows one thing at a time: a list, a domain, a component.
- The top right has the help button (?), the language, the look of the panel, and your own menu with your name on it.
Who can do what
Every account has one role. The menu shows only what your role can use, and the server checks every change again, whatever the screen shows.
| Role | Manages |
|---|---|
| Administrator | The whole server: components, security, updates, every account. |
| Reseller | Their own customers, the plans they sell, and their own sites. |
| Customer | Their own domains, sites, mail, databases and backups, within their plan. |
| User | A team member added by a customer. Sees only the domains and the parts the customer opened for them. |
What your plan includes, for example whether you may use SSH or how many mailboxes you may create, is set by whoever provides your account.
Your first steps
- Administrator: finish Server setup, check Components, then add the first domain. The server setup screen says what is still missing and why.
- Reseller: open Users to create a plan and your first customer.
- Customer: open Domains, choose your domain, and look at its tabs: Hosting for the website, Mail for mailboxes, Files for the site's files.
- User: open Domains. You see the domains your team opened for you.
Your account
Your own menu at the top right opens My account. There you change your password and your email address, and turn on two-factor authentication. A team member changes the password from the same menu, with Change password. Sign out is at the bottom of the menu.
Getting help
- The ? at the top right opens the guide at the part that explains the page you are on.
- User guide in the same menu shows every chapter for your role, with search.
- Take the tour shows the main parts of the screen again, in a few steps.
When a screen stops you, it says why, who has to act, and what to do next. Reading a state and getting help explains how to read those messages.
